    Abstract

    Purpose

18F-labelled somatostatin receptor tracers have recently gained popularity due to their better spatial resolution, longer half-life and lower costs compared to 68Ga-labeled tracers. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact and limitations of reduced administered activities of [18F]SiTATE on image quality, lesion detectability and quantitative PET parameters in a long axial field-of-view

Understanding the role of colon-specific microparticles based on retrograded starch/pectin in the delivery of chitosan nanoparticles along the gastrointestinal tract

The encapsulation of nanoparticles within microparticles designed for specific delivery to the colon is a relevant strategy to avoid premature degradation or release of nanoparticles during their passage through the stomach and upper gastrointestinal tract (GIT), allowing the targeted delivery of chemotherapeutics to the colon after oral administration. Here, we designed an oral multiparticulate system to achieve targeted release in the colon. In this sense, chitosan nanoparticles (CS NPs) encapsulated with 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and incorporated into retrograded starch and pectin (RS/P) microparticles were developed and their in vivo distribution along the mouse GIT after oral administration was monitored using multispectral optical imaging. In vitro release studies revealed that the encapsulation of CS NPs into R

    Abstract

    Purpose:

Tissue radiotracer activity measured from positron emission tomography (PET) images fryst vatten an important biomarker that fryst vatten clinically utilized for diagnosis, staging, prognostication, and treatment response assessment in patients with cancer and other clinical disorders. Using husdjur image values to define a normal range of metabolic activity for quantification purposes is challenging due to variations in patient-related factors and technical factors. Although the formulation of standardized uptake value (SUV) has compensated for some of these variabilities, significant non-standardness still persists. We föreslå an image processing method to substantially mitigate these variabilities.

    Methods:

The standardization method is similar for activity concentration (AC) PET and SUV PET images with some differences and consists of two steps. The calibration step is performed only once for each of AC PET or SUV husdjur, employs a set of images of normal subjects, and requires a r
