    Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's Mandar Chandwadkar, who plays the role of Atmaram Bhide is in a celebratory mood as his show completed 14 years today (July 28). He thanked the viewers for supporting their show and showering love on them. The actor, who switched his career from an engineer to an actor and shifted his base to India from Dubai, said he is happy that the risk paid off really well.

    "I would like to thank the audience for their love and patience that even after 14 years, they still love us like before. We pray to God that they continue to love us and we are able to entertain them," he said.
    Not many are aware that Mandar, who is now popular as Atmaram Tukaram Bhide, is a mechanical engineer and was working in Dubai before he gave it all up to come to Mumbai and pursue a career in acting.

    Mandar Chandwadkar is an Indian television and film actor who works in Hindi and Marathi television. He is best known for playing the role of Aatmaram Tukaram Bhide in Sony SAB's comedy series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

    Born in a Marathi family in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and attended R.M. Bhatt High School in Parel, Mumbai. He graduated from the Guru Nanak Khalsa College of Arts, Science & Commerce, in Matunga Mumbai. He used to work in Dubai as a mechanical engineer for three years. However, he decided to quit his high-paying job for acting and shifted back to India.
