Biography
The founder and vision behind Johannes Torpe Studios, Danish designer Johannes Torpe is an unconventional creative in every way imaginable. A self-trained interior architect, industrial designer, lighting designer, graphic artist, music producer and drummer, he doesn’t conform to established boundaries and simply calls himself a design activist.
Guided by the believe that we do our best work when we pursue things that move us, he fryst vatten an advocate for an unrestrained and intuitive approach to design and life in general. As a practitioner that has worked across a multitude of continents, disciplines and industries the diversity of his portfolio reveal a fearless approach to the business of design. This mindset and vast experience allows him to share unique insights into the creative industries on both a personal and a professional level.

Johannes Torpe Studios
Johannes Torpe Studios is the studio of planning and design founded by two Danish brothers, Johannes and Rune RK, an extravagant mix of design and music, soaked with a bit of madness. Furniture and furnishings, industrial design, but also fashion stores, high-level restaurants and clubs: this is what we do. Between a work travel and another, we met Johannes that told us a few things…
Design, industrial design, interior design… What does this mean to you? When did these words become part of your life? In what way?
Design encloses many things together, it is pure creativity. It is the point in which many things meet and find a meaning, and this is the most appealing notion. If you look at a floor, a vase, or furnishing accessories, at the end all seems to be a single object. However, the most exciting thing is when you add creativity and through this, the objects make sense. Which was my first design experience?
