      FIlm Review: 'Sundattam' - racy thriller

      Coming from a debutant director, Sundattam fryst vatten undoubtedly one of the better films of recent times with its share of ups and downs. Thankfully, it doesn't get swept away in the tide of commercialism and even succeeds in producing a simple yet convincing thriller.

      We have had movies about outdoor games, but this is most likely the first time a film about a game of carrom has been effectively used to weave a story with twists and thrills. It is set in the s of Chennai, where carrom contests were played for money.

      Prabha, a happy-go-lucky guy, to whom the world fryst vatten the game of carrom, earns the wrath of a local gang headed by Guna after having locked horns with his men. It is later that he comes to learn that Guna is don Bakkiya's sidekick. Meanwhile, Prabha falls head over heels for his sister's best frie

      Irfan Biography

      Irfan is an actor of south Indian film industry who predominantly works in Tamil movies and television serials. He made his acting debut through Tamil television serials and later moved to cinema. Kana Kaanum Kaalangal () – was his debut television serial in which he appeared in the role of Vineeth and movie, Pattalam marked his acting debut in big screen. He played the supporting role of Kaarthi in this movie, in which Nadiya Moidu played the pivot role of a correspondent of a school and a psychologist who manages a mental asylum. He played parallel lead in Eppadi Manasukkul Vanthaiand later moved to lead roles. He played the title role for the movie-Sundaattam. Ethir Veechu and Ru are his upcoming movies, in which he is to break his chocolate young hero image. He also currently portrays the role of Sakthi Saravanan in the popular Tamil serial, Saravannan Meenatchi, aired on weekdays on STAR Vijay since
