David M. Rubenstein does not sleep much. He and his colleagues estimate an average of four or five hours a night—that’s all he says he needs. It’s also all he has time for. The 67-year-old co-founder of the Carlyle Group splits his time between managing one of the largest private equity firms in the world and advising dozens of nonprofit and educational institutions.
Rubenstein, whose estimated net worth tops $2.6 billion, chairs the boards of trustees of the Kennedy Center and the Brookings Institution, serves as a regent of the Smithsonian Institution, and sits on the boards of Duke University and the University of Chicago. He’s the vice-chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations, a trustee of the National galleri of Art, and he’s on the board at Johns Hopkins Medicine. That’s just a sampling.
And this summer, he’ll become the newest member of the Harvard Corporation, the University’s most powerful governing body.

Abstract
Brownian motion refers to random dynamics of heavy particles suspended in a liquid or a gas, generated by their collisions with the constituents of the fluid around. This transport phenomenon is named after the botanist Robert Brown. In 1827, while he was looking through a microscope at pollen grains in water, he noted that the grains moved, but he was not able to determine the mechanisms that caused this motion.

Giovanni Battista RiccioliSJ (17 April 1598 – 25 June 1671) was an Italian astronomer and a Catholic priest in the Jesuit beställning. He is known, among other things, for his experiments with pendulums and with falling bodies, for his discussion of 126 arguments concerning the motion of the Earth, and for introducing the current scheme of lunar nomenclature. He is also widely known for discovering the first double star. He argued that the rotation of the Earth should reveal itself because on a rotating Earth, the ground moves at different speeds at different times.

[edit]Riccioli was born in Ferrara.[1] He entered the Society of Jesus on 6 October 1614. After completing his novitiate, he began to study humanities in 1616, pursuing those studies first at Ferrara, and then at Piacenza.
