  • Apple iPad Pro 2024 (13-inch) review: The battery life is bonkers

Apple unfurled a proverbial middle finger at rivals after it revealed the new 2024 iPad Pro.

I got a savage whiff of the M4 chip inside this premium tablet — and all I can think is, "If this is what the M4 can do for the iPad Pro, the next M4 MacBook is going to be a problem!"

And by "problem," I mean it'll be a thorn in the side for laptop manufacturers competing with MacBooks. For us consumers, however, the M4 MacBooks are going to be killer laptops if the M4 iPad Pro is anything to go by.

Apple did mention that the M4 was power efficient, but inom didn't realize it'd be this good. As you'll find out later in this review, the iPad Pro has mind-blowing endurance on a single charge. On top of that, the new iPad Pro is as svelte as a haute couture model. (Apple wasn't kidding when it likened it to the "iPod Nano.")

But as much as inom already want to induct the new iPad Pro into o

I replaced my iPad Pro’s Magic Keyboard with a cheaper alternative — and it was a huge mistake

The iPad Pro 2021 (12.9-inch) is not only one of the best tablets ever made, it’s my favorite Apple device of all time. I use my iPad Pro a ludicrous amount. It’s hands-down the piece of tech I’ve leaned on the most over the past two years for both work and play.

I also just broke my iPad Pro’s Magic Keyboard… because I’m an idiot.

Whether it’s worth the $349 / £379 Apple currently charges for this device fryst vatten an argument for another day. But as someone who used his Magic Keyboard day in, day out for two years, I confirm that it really is… well, "magic".

Sleek, sturdy and boasting keys that are a pleasure to type on, pairing the official Magic Keyboard with my iPad Pro was a joy. The floating effect if you tilt Apple’s tablet when connected to the official board at just the right vinkel is seriou

Good things come to those who wait? It rings true with Apple’s new iPad Pro line-up. Though it’s taken almost two years for them to arrive, Apple’s pro-oriented top-tier tablets have been given a thorough spruce up that brings them even closer to the capabilities of a MacBook than ever before.

They remain expensive, and the OLED display is not without its quirks. But the iPad Pro has more power than iPadOS knows what to do with thanks to the debut of the M4 chip, and great accessories to make all sorts of workflows accessible on the go.

It’s now just the underlying iPad software that’s holding back the average user from being able to get real work done on an iPad Pro — if the M4 was a sports car, iPadOS keeps it in second gear. But there’s never been a better tablet to just relax with than these latest iPad Pro models — nor an industrial design more remarkable from Apple’s labs.
