Nzinga Christine Blake (born 1981) is an American / Sierra Leonean actress. Blake was a host on Current TV and starred on the TV series Fridays on Cartoon Network, Culture Click on Litton's Weekend Adventure, as well as in national television commercials for Sprite and Kinkos. Blake now hosts "Culture Click" on the television network called "Bounce" TV, which is usually only found on non-cable television. Her father, Cecil Blake, is the former Minister of Information in Sierra Leone. Life and Career Born in Maryland, Nzinga Blake has been a jet setter from birth with a love for the arts, fashion and humanitarian efforts. As the daughter of a Sierra Leonean former UN tjänsteman, cabinet minister, and world scholar, she spent a majority of her childhood in Tokyo, Japan and Nairobi, Kenya. As the daughter of a Sierra Leonean former UN official, cabinet minister, and international scholar, she spent a majority of her childhood in Tokyo Japan and Nairobi, Kenya, and the United States. Nzinga attended the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), where she graduated with highest honors from the prestigious school of Film, Television and Digital Media. After graduating, Nzinga became one of the first live humans to be seen on Cartoon Network, where she cohosted the popular show “Fridays.” During this time she also landed recurring roles on Showtime’s “Barbershop,” with an appearance on the ABC primetime drama “What About Brian.” She would go onto becoming a host, writer, producer and voice over talent on Al Gore’s former |
