1938 | C. Bland Giddings (BS ’38, MS University of Cincinnati ’39, PhD University of Cincinnati ’43, MD University of Cincinnati ’47; Lucile Layton [BS ’40]; Mesa, Ariz.), a cellist who promoted music in Arizona for more than 50 years, was honored in March by Arizona’s Chandler Symphony Orchestra. Giddings performed with the orchestra for a final time in a concert dedicated to him.

(BA ’61, JD George Washington University ’64; DeLoris Peters [A ’67]; Brigham City, Utah), a Utah attorney, was named an Angel in Adoption by the U.S. Congressional Coalition on Adoption in October for his work in adoptions and birth-mother placements.
1965 | Jerry M. Chatwin (BA ’65, MM ’88; Heidy; Magrath, Alberta, Canada) received the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal for being an exemplary Canadian citizen. Chatwin founded the high school Spirit of Alberta Marching Band in 1988.
