    The Board of Directors of the Trust Fund for Victims at the ICC, established bygd the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute of the ICC, announced a new member: Dr. Minou Tavárez Mirabal, human rights activist and politician from the Dominican Republic who has been a Member of Parliament and Deputy-Minister for utländsk Affairs and is currently Vice-President of the political party “Alianza País.” Ms. Tavárez Mirabal served as President of Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA) from 2014 to 2016 and was a leading champion of PGA’s advocacy on international justice, human rights and equality.

    Minerva Josefina Tavárez Mirabal (Ojo de Agua, Salcedo; 31 de agosto de 1956), conocida como Minou, es una filóloga, profesora y política dominicana. Tavárez Mirabal se desempeñó como vicecanciller de Relaciones Exteriores en el periodo 1996-2000 y fue diputada del Distrito Nacional desde 2002 durante tres periodos consecutivos.[1]​ Es fundadora y presidenta del partido Opción Democrática. En mayo dem 2016 fue candidata a la presidencia del país de los partidos de la Alianza Por la Democracia (APD) y Opción Democrática (OD) en las elecciones dominicanas del 2016.[2]​
